Remarkable Readers is where kids who struggle to read get help.

My name is Erin Cramer-Erbes and I am a Speech-Language Pathologist specializing in language, literacy, and the problems that people experience when reading doesn’t come easily.

I work with students, families, and teachers to help identify and understand reading problems, and to improve reading skills. My clinical background allows me to look closely at the spoken language skills that underlie reading, spelling, and writing to use this as the foundation for growth in literacy. Working with emerging readers (Pre-K through 3rd grade) is especially close to my heart, as I believe early identification of challenges allows us more time to prepare for and face them; however, I enjoy working with students of all ages.

My educational background includes Interlochen Arts Academy (HS diploma), Western Michigan University (BA in Music and French), and the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities (MA in Speech-Language Pathology). My work experience includes a Clinical Fellowship Year at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, and decade of work with the Park Nicollet Clinic in Minneapolis, Minnesota. I have worked in the public schools since moving back to Michigan in 2017 and am thrilled to now own and operate Remarkable Readers.

At Remarkable Readers, you and your child can expect professional, expert reading instruction provided with a clear understanding that while reading is important, your child’s heart and spirit are critical. I begin with each child’s strengths and work from what they already know to build confidence and enjoyment (hopefully!) in reading along the way.

Thank you for taking the time to get to know a little about me and Remarkable Readers. I look forward to getting to know you and your young reader!

A little about Erin…

Some of my favorite books include Braiding Sweetgrass by Robin Wall Kimmerer and Wonder by R. J. Palacio. I fell asleep during every Harry Potter movie, but loved reading the books with my kids!
