What is dyslexia?

Dyslexia is often defined as an unexpected difficulty in learning to read. It can be identified as early as kindergarten and the earlier students get help, the smaller the impact dyslexia has on their self-esteem, school achievements, and life in general. Intense interventions (4-5 days per week for 30 minutes or longer) with multi-sensory techniques and structured literacy curriculum is the best way to help a child make strong, lasting gains. Many knowledgeable educators are working to bring these tools into classrooms, because while these techniques are essential for students with dyslexia, it turns out they are also quite helpful for teaching reading to everyone else too.

Why do you recommend so many sessions per week?

High frequency sessions are essential because struggling readers continue to be struggling readers unless they receive an intensive period of intervention.
